Coinbase retired the classic version of its wallet application on August 15 as it moved users toward the updated Base App experience. According to its support documentation, existing recovery phrases, addresses and assets on supported networks did not require a transfer simply because of the application change. The transition is noteworthy because wallet interfaces can change while the underlying self-custody credentials remain the same, a distinction that is often confusing during migrations. Coinbase also notes that some networks previously available in the classic application may not be supported in the new interface.
