MetaMask adds protection designed to stop 'red pill' transaction attacks

The wallet's Added Protection feature is designed to make an EVM transaction revert if its real outcome differs from the preview shown to the user.

MetaMask introduced an Added Protection security feature aimed at a class of attacks in which a transaction behaves differently from its wallet preview. MetaMask says the feature checks that the actual outcome matches the simulated preview and otherwise reverts the transaction. Avenor News covers the release as a wallet-security development; it is not an endorsement or recommendation of MetaMask.
