MetaMask says wallet infrastructure was not compromised in security incident
MetaMask said an infrastructure incident affected part of its staking operations, while its investigation found no indication that wallet infrastructure or users' private keys were compromised.
MetaMask published an update on a security incident first identified in late September. The company said affected Ethereum validators operated by MetaMask Staking were exited as a precaution and that a limited amount of execution-layer staking rewards was diverted. MetaMask said it found no indication that wallet infrastructure, Secret Recovery Phrases, private keys or customers' staked principal were compromised. Avenor News reports the statement as a security development and does not endorse MetaMask or its services.
