MetaMask adds warnings aimed at romance and investment scams
A MetaMask security feature introduces questions and alerts before certain transfers when risk signals suggest a social-engineering scam.
MetaMask introduced a security feature designed to interrupt some romance and investment scams before a user sends funds. According to the company, the feature uses risk signals including information from security partner Blockaid and can present warning questions when a destination appears suspicious. MetaMask says the protection is available on supported Mobile and Extension versions across EVM networks. Avenor News reports on the feature as a wallet-security development and does not endorse or recommend MetaMask.
